Description
Internal and external waterproofing in existing buildings: Waterproofing the damp basement walls was essential for the basement rooms to be used. In areas where the external walls could be exposed, external waterproofing was applied using KÖSTER NB 4000. First, the substrate was levelled with KÖSTER WP Mortar and primed with KÖSTER Polysil TG 500. Certain areas of the basement walls could not be exposed from the outside, so internal waterproofing consisting of KÖSTER NB 1 Grey was applied. Here too, the substrate was levelled and the coving was created using KÖSTER WP Mortar. Due to the salt content of the walls, the salt-binding and substrate-strengthening primer KÖSTER Polysil TG 500 was used. The diffusion-open and hydrophobic KÖSTER Restoration Plaster enables the masonry to dry out without damage. The salts that have been introduced can crystallise in the pore structure of the renovation plaster without damaging the plaster or subsequent coats of paint.
